International Board Visit
When one of our longest standing corporate Client’s tasked us with their International Board Visit to South Africa, we were thrilled to say the least! We got straight into the planning with fervour as the timeframe was, as always, a little tight however we love a little bit of pressure to get us going!
On a beautiful day in Cape Town, The Mother City, a natural hostess, was on form as we welcomed Guests at the Airport with luxury shuttles for their five days full of events and conferencing. After a swift check in at the beautiful Table Bay Hotel, we transferred Guests to the Head Offices in the CBD for an afternoon full of meetings.
From the moment they arrived to their very last day, they were greeted by fragrant floral arrangements, an all-day Barista Bar service and of course, delicious food. Slippery Spoon Kitchen was set to impress with food stations, that took the Guests on a week-long Capetonian and African Journey of Food.
For their first evening, Guests were chauffeured to Gold Restaurant in Greenpoint, for a unique African dining experience. Welcomed by praise singing and clapping, Guests were lead through the incredible three story building taking in all the African elements on show before taking their seats. Once settled, Guests got ready to take part in an interactive Djembe Drumming Experience lead by professional drummers, setting the tone for the dinner and evening infused with an authentic African style and ambience. After working up an appetite, Guests moved into a private dining space where they enjoyed a multi-course African feast over conversations creating an ideal social environment for team members to engage.
After having a day or two of true Capetonian experience under their belts, the group made their way to the Northern suburbs for another day of conferencing. Thereafter, we transported them to the Innovation Hub in Philippi Village. The group wanted to experience a revolutionary entity in the city, one which would give their team leaders an insight into the areas of need in Cape Town. Innovation Hub Africa provides access to opportunities that will unlock the potential of the next generation, ultimately connecting them to the local and global digital economy. It is also the brain-child of the Hillsong Africa Foundation whose heart it is to equip, encourage and uplift those in need. Here, the group had the opportunity to interact with students of the Innovation Hub, listen to their stories and hear how they are intentionally engaged in their future in South Africa as role models to their community.
After an incredible, eye-opening afternoon, Guests spent the last of their evenings at The Athletic Club and Social, where they conversed over delicious Mediterranean cuisine set in the form of a Jefferson Dinner. This style of evening was created by Thomas Jefferson himself to engage intentionally with his guests on a one-on-basis utilising topics not related to politics, religion or philosophy. Guests chatted the night away, debriefing what was a super successful week on all fronts.
