Jayden & Hayley
From the very first phone call, Hayley and I were kindred spirits, and that call led to the hundreds more that culminated in the most beautiful destination wedding Mauritius has ever seen.
Hayley – a little blonde bombshell and interior decorator with an incredible eye for detail – absolutely immersed herself in the planning of what would be a week’s worth of incredible celebrations for their guests to revel in. Sharing her excitement, Jayden was an integral part of the planning, involved in every decision.
Once the location had been settled, we headed over to Mauritius for a site visit, falling in love with two properties adjacent to each other – Zilwa Attitude Resort and LUX Grande Gaube. That’s when the planning really started taking shape, and we decided to have guests stay at Zilwa, with all their activities for the week unfolding there. Guests were then in for a surprise when the wedding day arrived, and they were popped into shuttles to LUX Grande Gaube!
Upon our return to South Africa, we began assembling a formidable team of local and South African service providers to make this a celebration to remember. The planning across borders consumed us, and before we knew it, the day was almost upon us! Guests were kept in the loop during the build-up with an informative app and website populated throughout with important things to note, such as: the itinerary on arrival, dress code suggestions for each day and night’s happenings, fun FAQs and more!
Seven days ahead of the big day, the Cape Town team took off for Mauritius! Alicia of Alicia Buckle Hair and Make-Up, Skillie of Kikitography and Corrie of Kikitography Motion completed the team from SA. We hit the ground running to prepare everything ahead of the 80 guests arriving in a couple of days.
The days to follow were spent on endless reccies to ensure all was set and ready for guests across both properties. The day of arrival saw the 2iC team lovingly packing the incredible welcome bags that Hayley and Jayden had intentionally curated for their guests. They were known as “H&J’s Favourites” and consisted of bespoke, branded, linen tote bags, each filled with a custom embroidered Turkish towel, miniatures of vanilla and lemongrass Mauritian rum, lip balm and sun cream. Also inside each gorgeous bag was a little drawstring survival kit overflowing with everything required to ensure longevity for guests in the five days of festivities to follow.
