Mike & Maria Welcome Dinner

When we met Mike and Maria, we started off by chatting about a wonderful Dinner that they wanted to host for their family and friends at the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden in Stellenbosch. We obviously jumped at the occasion and began planning alongside them straight away. Quite soon into the planning, we found out this Dinner was to be the Welcome Dinner for their Guests the evening before their Wedding! So not only did we get to plan the Dinner but, the Wedding too!

Mike and Maria loved the idea of the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden from the moment they saw it and knew they wanted their wedding Guests to share it too. What better welcome to Cape Town could they give them?!

With all the boxes ticked very soon in the planning process, the time was upon us in no time at all and before we knew it, the day had arrived! Having planned a wine-tasting excursion before the Welcome Dinner, the Couple and their Guests arrived at The Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden anticipating a special evening. On arrival, they were given custom-made Maps of the Garden, which set out the Sculpture Garden routes and the various stops along the way.

Guests meandered through the Garden towards the Poplar Circle where they enjoyed a Botanical Gin Bar and delicious canapés before branching off to explore the Garden a little more. Eventually arriving at the Pavilion the guests were in for a Feast with various live food stations prepared with love by the Slippery Spoon Team after months of planning with the Couple.

Gerry Liberty set the tone for the evening and echoed beautifully out onto the lawns where Guests had spilled to enjoy the setting sun. Truly the most perfect welcome to South Africa!
