STELLENBOSCH

Ori & Meg

We knew Ori and Meg before they knew us… A mutual friend (and former amazing Bride of 2iC) shared their engagement image and we couldn’t help but gawk at this gorgeous couple secretly hoping they would need us to be their Planner. Low and behold, Meg then called us to set up a meeting – we couldn’t believe our luck!!!

It was a true privilege to have met Ori and Meg and experienced their total adoration for each other and the kindness in which they treat all whom they encounter. The gentlest, kindest individuals and we got to plan their Wedding Day – again, we couldn’t believe our luck!!

From the get-go Meg was on the ball, creating spreadsheets before we could, designing presentations before we had – it was amazing! Not sure whether to offer Meg a job (which we did on numerous occasions throughout but no luck!) or just thank our lucky stars. London-based (but thankfully in Cape Town loads) they soon became “Our Faves” and us their “Dream Team” – we couldn’t have scripted this better…! And, as if things couldn’t get any better, we met both Mom’s and fell even more in love! Let’s just say our Whatsapp group was something special and still is!

Planning was an absolute dream and we adored Ori and Meg’s collective vision and drive to create something rare, deliberate and extraordinary for their Guests. They selected The Cooperage on Anura Wine Estate just outside of Stellenbosch as their venue and we were super happy as the venue would be perfect for their 260 guests. We launched into the preparation and soon had a very clear idea of the day. Ori and Meg chose to have their Chuppah in an incredible tree-lined avenue on the estate surrounded by vineyards and enveloped by the Simonsberg Mountains.

In what seemed like a blink of an eye, we woke on the Wedding Day after months of fun in planning and hit the ground running with excitement! Ori, encircled by his dashing Groomsmen in striking tuxedo’s, strolled into the Grooms Table area ready to get proceedings underway. Meg, an absolute stunner on a normal day, arrived at the Cooperage with her Bridesmaids and jaws audibly dropped. A complete vision, Meg took in the venue in all it’s incredible glory before making her way to the Chuppah.

Deciding to have their Bedeken down the aisle in front of all their Guests – Meg and Ori met in the middle and the emotion was palpable. Adorned in masses of white Orchids, Roses, Chrysanthemums and bleached Italian Ruscus, the Chuppah had an incredible softness and was as dreamy as they come. With Guest seated on both sides of the Chuppah, everyone had a view of the Couple as they exchanged their vows and became Mr and Mrs Sachs.

Leading their Guests through the vineyards to the Cooperage for Pre-Dinner Drinks, Meg and Ori were on cloud nine… A quick refreshment on the open-air Deck overlooking the water which was also the setting for a beautiful Horas lead by DJ Nate.

Guests were then invited into The Cooperage to find their seats on long, elegantly and romantically set tables heaving under the masses of white candles in various vessels. A white and deep green hanging floral installation filled the centre of the space and was interspersed with fairy lights and naked bulbs. Ori means ‘my light’ in Hebrew and Meg wanted to ensure that the venue was lit to honour this. Thoughtful stationery was placed on the tables for guests and the evening began with a series of delicate plates in a dining experience enjoyed by all.

After heartfelt words, Meg and Ori danced their first dance surrounded by their beloved’s in a sparkling halo of light. What a Wedding; What a Couple…
